Outside, in the blooming…
Fragrant white blossoms on the trees, lilacs speckling bluish-purple. Dandelions and bird-song — and the bright tumbling of water in the fountain.
Sunday, and I’m off (and wearing yellow in the yard). A small plastic table to my left bearing catalogs, telephones, a novel, sunglasses and an almost empty glass of beer.
I’m thinking of Summer. The sky is featureless white — the sun, a bright blur. Things are growing green. Petals are falling like snow. And there is the sound of water, and the birds…and the soft breeze, pushing time out.
All around me.
