Winter's Tail

I was looking at the patterns the salt on the walking track had made, today. Long wispy-pale streaks, like horse tails. The sky was golden, watery-white and blue. Small specks of snow swirled absently.

I took this picture, earlier:

I think it is prismatic and pretty...in a blurred and fading way. If the salt streaks were Winter's tail...then these are Winter's scales...
