Here's to all the people that I am very thankful for -- and to the many things that make life worth living. I am grateful for you all.
Happy Thanksgiving!
The day tips dark earlier, now. Can't help feeling a bit oppressed by scarcity of light. Here the cold presses in -- the golden season giving way to more monochromatic times.
All the more reason to stoke up the warmth, inside. To shine our lights brighter. Soft sweaters and deeper blankets to sink within, cocoa and hot coffee. Hats and gloves.
It's good to think of the hearth, and to hold to Summer memories -- while my breath turns ghostly in the air.

I got him at Target for a buck. He holds spare change -- and love. Oh yeah. Mr. Piggy is all about the love, baby...
The day is chilly and dim: a palette of grays, cut with rainwater and washed-on thin. My coffee is glossy ink. I'm kind of worn-out and grungy feeling. My eyes are tired. It is timeless, here. Vaguely damp. The light is smeared and pale, like a thin puddle of milk. I feel...dusty.
It is gray and drizzly today, the remaining clusters of Autumn-tinted leaves standing out against a dim backdrop. Voting went smoothly. It was my second time using the new touch-screen units and things seemed to work. Hopefully, my vote was actually counted because you still don't get a confirmation receipt. My local polling place was seeing steady traffic and people appeared to be going through the process fairly well, though. I hope that is a positive sign...
Now it is time for some more coffee and a bite to eat.
Remember to vote!

Here's to butterfly days and loverly nights, a great year ahead -- and many more healthy and happy times to come.
Happy Birthday, Sweetie!
:-)

Happy Birthday, Joel!
Here's to a long, healthy and very happy life -- and to many great years ahead!
Love,
John
