March 2007 Archives
It is lushly beautiful today: bright and warm, soundtracked with bird song and accented with hints of blooming-to-come. Hello Spring!
I'm sipping coffee and getting ready to get ready for work.
Google recently added an option to their personalized homepage service. Now you can customize the look of your homepage by selecting "themes". They look quite nice by themselves but the nifty thing is that they change dynamically based on your local time-of-day. I'm using the "Tea House" theme and am really enjoying watching the little cartoon fox (who is featured in that theme) have lunch, go fishing, star gaze late at night... What can I say? I'm easily amused. :-)
Actually, I've always wanted to add time-based changes to The Allurium. I do shift things around a bit with the seasons but have always wanted to incorporate the day/night cycle as well. I like the idea of a website feeling more like a place -- as opposed to something more abstract...
Ah, it's about time for more coffee...and a bite to eat. Then it's off to work. I do intend on enjoying as much of this bright beautiful day as I can, though. It is such a pretty (and welcome) change.

Putting away the globe, while the sky blue stretches open wide, flowering sunlight down. White traceries, thinning, shrinking from the edges of the shade. And birds, all a-flutter.
Winter's last.
Removing dust while Kate sings on the stereo. At the end of three days off and I'm getting this stuff done, readying for Spring. March has been sparse, shifted. I'd like to get a plant or something. New life for the new season.
Winter wasn't really that hard -- but I'm ready for the blooming.
A Happy St. Patrick's Day to all. Have a safe, fun and green day!
