October 2007 Archives
I know I've been a bit scarce online recently, but wanted to pop by and wish everyone a great Halloween. May your costumes be cool, you bags full of candy, and your day fun, spooky and all treats.
Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween!
Ten ten and the air is cold. Leaves tumbling, colors changing. Time to linger over coffee, hands cupped around the warmth. Time to squint up at the pale sky and smell woodsmoke in the air. This week is long already and I'm dragging toward work. Back in the evening, perhaps with some seasonal flickers on the tv screen. Now, it's time for a steamy shower...
The day was bright and clear. No need for a jacket, outside. I got some housekeeping done early -- then boogied out to the driveway to spend some quality time with my new car. :-)
I've been looking around at cars for some time now. On Monday I got a couple of calls at work from the Toyota dealer and ended up going out that evening and purchasing a new, 2007 Toyota Yaris. I'm still finding it hard to believe that it is sitting out there on the driveway. This afternoon was all about exploring and fiddling around with the car, paging through the manual, playing with the stereo... Kinda just geeking-out, actually.

Years ago, when I was vacationing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, I bought an "OBX" sticker in a little beach gift shop. At the time, I was fixated on buying a silver New Beetle. I wanted to put that sticker in my new car. Years rolled by from there. The sticker drifted into a junk drawer by my desk and stayed there. Until today:

It's been a long time coming. (And turns out, the color is "Meteorite".)
:-)
