Wednesday's Air

The remaining warmth in the wind dropped down a few more notches today, turning scattered droplets of rain to snowflakes.  Leaves are running toward brown (from the golden tones) and tumbling all the more rapidly to the ground.  When I got out to my car tonight, after work, the windshield was filmed in a delicate layer of frost.  From inside (with the heater cranked) I looked through icy swirls, feathered like horse tails.

An October evening that felt like January...
