Soft

| | TrackBacks (0)
The rain is softening the day.  Blurring the colors, wet-into-wet.  Whispering on the roof.  The distance is gray mist and the moments feel like watery dreams.  The light is pale, unfixed in time.  It could be morning or evening, or anything in-between.  I feel tired.  I don't feel tired.  A quiet agitation is in me -- but rain just continues.  Sighing, smoothing...softening.

Raindrop on a Windowpane

The rain seems to have washed the heat out of the air.  It feels more autumnal, now.  The landscape is moist and misty...

I'm drifting toward some coffee.  It's back to work for me today (and for the next six, actually, ugh).  My two days off were fairly busy.  Nifty things are afoot!  (I'm still trying to adapt to the fact that it is very nearly October, though; Time can be as slippery as a raindrop on a windowpane.)

Well, it's java-time for me.  Gotta knock some cobwebs out of my noggin...

Happy Thursday!

Pouring the Day

For a moment, I thought the wine bottle was a cat. Perched dark and silken on the step, it had that same still composure that felines do. I'd placed it there on my way to the laundry room. After checking the status of my tumbling clothing, I took up the wine and stuck it in the fridge: saved for some future day...

This Tuesday was all water and mist. The air: weighted. A dreamy day-off, moments blurring by. It's feeling late, now. The morning alarm is looming. Ah. Well.

Some music and a tall glass of water and I'm off to bed.

Be Free.

Skyline Static

Earlier, when it rained, it seemed like the water wasn't really falling from the low sky but was, instead, appearing through the fabric of the moisture-laden air -- like static creeping into an image on a tv screen.

Afterward, everything glimmered and shined -- under a dramatic skyline.

It was pretty.

Awake, Again

After a deep rainfall, when the sky was tinted yellow-green and everything swirled and glimmered, I rode home with Amy. The power had dropped-out before, but lights were awake again. The air held that post-rain scent. All was quiet.

And there, in someone's front yard: the luminous green glow of a firefly (the first I've seen this year) winked on...

Then off.

Slow Sunday

| | TrackBacks (0)

The first of the month, and rain is wetting early blossoms. The sky is flat gray but the landscape is greening -- and I'm enjoying my day off work. Gotta love that!

It is soft and quiet, here; a slow Sunday. I sense a cup of coffee in my very near future...and the paper. I may watch Children of Men tonight, time permitting.

All-in-all, it is a smooth and lazy groove, today. But that's cool.

Hello, April!
